What are Cemetery/Churchyard fees?
The local authority i.e. local council for cemeteries or vicars for churchyards charge a fee for the right to erect a memorial this fee covers administration costs and cemetery/ churchyard upkeep etc.
How much are the Cemetery/Churchyard fees?
Cemetery fees vary from council to council, you can ring the council in charge of the cemetery to find out the exact cost or we can call them for you when you have placed an order with us. They can cost anything from £20 up to £300. There are usually different fees for new memorials, replacements, 2nd inscriptions and wether or not the deceased lived in the local area.
What is a NAMM approved anchor system?
A NAMM approved anchor system is a safety device that is secured into the ground and the headstone to prevent the memorial from becoming unsafe and possibly falling. We provide a NAMM approved anchor system as standard at no extra charge.
When can a memorial be erected on a grave?
Memorials can normally be erected on a grave 6 to 12 months after the last burial has taken place as the ground needs time to settle. In the case of a cremation the memorial can be erected immediately.
NB. Many cemeteries are now installing a concrete beam for the memorials to stand on in which case the memorial can be erected immediately.
Can I have a photo on the headstone?
Yes, we can supply ceramic photo plaques with the photo of your choice. NB. Not all authorities allow photos, especially churchyards.
Can I have a different design on the memorial?
We have hundreds of different designs that are not shown on the website. If you do wish to have a different design then please call us.
